Dr. Chin
Veterinarian
Dr. Chin has been loving practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from OVC at the University of Guelph in 1993. He opened Highbury North in 2003 with the goal of having a friendly, compassionatre, professional practice that educates clients so we can create partnerships in excellent pet care with owners.
Dr. Chin dreamt of a career in animal care since he was a teenager as he wanted to reduce and prevent suffering of animals. He started as a veterinarian in 1993 working with both farm animals and pets outside the London area, then worked as a locum relief veterinarian all over Ontario before opening his own practice in 2003. He really enjoys seeing the love and bond people have with their pets and the journey they take through their entire lives. He embraces the variety of care we give pets throughout their varied stages of life. From puppies and kittens to seniors, care can vary from behaviour counselling, dietary medical therapy, diagnostic challenges, anesthesia, surgery and dental care.
When away from work, he can be found biking, running, snowboarding or cross country skiing, canoeing or hiking and spending time outdoors with his wife Kathy, with whom he started the practice and their sheltie, Merlin who is always up for walks, fetch or a hike no matter the time of year!
Dr. Chin has a strong belief in taking care of others in the community and those in need so he supports a number of charities locally and internationally for people and animals such the London Food Bank, Mission Services, St Vincent de Paul, World Vision, Plan Canada, World wildlife fund and The Farley Foundation (see our Giving Back page). He was also a member of the Fanshawe Optimist service club.
